Theme: Chromating the Horizon

Under the theme “Chromating the Horizon: Vision, Culture, and Innovation,” ACA 2026 seeks to reimagine the evolving role of color in shaping human perception, cultural narratives, and technological futures. “Chromating” is understood not merely as the application of color, but as a transformative process—infusing perception, extending boundaries, and reconfiguring the ways we see and engage with the world. “Horizon” signifies both the limits of vision and the emergence of new possibilities. Together, the theme invites participants to explore how color operates across disciplines to:

•Expand perceptual and cognitive horizons

•Mediate between technology and human experience

•Embed cultural meaning in contemporary design

•Foster ethical and sustainable futures

The conference particularly welcomes contributions that respond to rapid advancements in AI and digital technologies, while maintaining a strong commitment to humanistic values, cultural depth, and environmental responsibility.

Chromating the Horizon: Vision, Culture, and Innovation

We are pleased to announce that Huafan University, in collaboration with the Color Association of Taiwan (CAT), will host the 2026 Asia Color Association (ACA) Conference. Building upon the distinguished legacy of the ACA, this conference serves as a premier interdisciplinary platform for scholars, researchers, designers, and practitioners to explore emerging frontiers in color science, visual culture, and creative innovation.

The conference will take place 5–8 November 2026 on the serene, mountain campus of Huafan University in Taiwan—a setting that uniquely embodies the dialogue between nature, culture, and contemplative learning.
